We stumbled upon this video awhile back and loved it. We found ourselves thinking back to it often, and even quoting it to clients and colleagues. Ash Beckham spoke at a TEDx Talks event and shared her views on facing challenging personal situations, specifically coming out of the closest to her friends and family. We found ourselves thinking about this speech because the ideas Ash Beckham describes fit in so many scenarios – both in business and in private. It’s not just about being gay and coming out of the closet. It applies to facing hard conversations, being true to ourselves, and remembering everyone is going through something, and their something is not ‘more’ hard or ‘less’ hard than our something.
