In-Office HR Support
Experienced HR support, right there when you need it.
Your managers were probably promoted into their roles because they were good at their jobs. Now they’re expected to manage people too by handling performance issues, difficult conversations, employee concerns, documentation and HR decisions, often without much HR training or support.
Why Have HR in the Office?
Because people issues don’t always wait for a meeting or a callback.
When an experienced HR professional is part of your workplace, managers have somewhere to turn while a situation is still developing.
01
Have the conversation.
We help managers know what to say, how to say it, and when to say it.
02
Address issues early.
We help managers recognize and address concerns before they become bigger or more difficult to manage.
03
Apply policies consistently.
We help managers understand and apply your policies and procedures. If you don’t have them, we help you navigate the situation while building what your organization needs.
04
Make better decisions.
Managers don’t have to guess their way through difficult employee situations. They have an experienced HR professional to help them work through their options.
05
Build confidence.
We work alongside managers so they become more comfortable and capable handling people issues themselves.
These aren’t failures of judgment. They’re what happens when HR is an afterthought. The problems don’t announce themselves. They compound.

Every People Decision Doesn't Have to Run Through One Person
In many growing organizations, there’s one person everyone brings their people problems to and that’s usually the owner, general manager, or whoever has been there the longest.
Managers hand them the awkward conversations, accommodation requests and performance issues nobody wants to own. Over time, that person becomes the HR department without anyone ever deciding they should be.
The whole organization ends up running at the speed of their calendar.
In-office HR support changes that.
We’re there to support managers before every people decision lands on one person’s desk.
Your managers escalate everything.
It’s usually not avoidance. Most supervisors have never been told where their own authority ends, so passing a decision up feels safer than getting it wrong on their own. That’s a reasonable reaction, and it means everything keeps landing in the same place.
The advice arrives after the decision.
By the time an outside consultant hears about a situation, the conversation has usually already happened and the email has already gone out. The options are more limited by then. Having HR support available in the workplace means managers can get guidance while a situation is still developing.
What gets built doesn’t survive the handoff.
A project wraps up, documents get delivered, and six months later nobody is using them. We work differently. We build processes with your managers and help them put those processes into practice.
What In-Office HR Support Looks Like at Daeco
1
We start by watching.
The first few weeks are about understanding how your organization actually works. We talk with your managers, review your policies and processes, and observe how people issues are handled. We want to understand the gap between what’s written down and what actually happens before we recommend anything.
2
We set a schedule your team can rely on.
Everyone knows when we’re in the office. Managers don’t have to wait for a meeting or wonder when they’ll be able to reach us. That means questions get raised while they’re still small enough to address.
3
We handle what’s happening today and build what your team needs for tomorrow.
We work through the real situations your managers are dealing with like performance issues, difficult conversations, employee concerns and other HR decisions. At the same time, we look at what’s missing and build the processes, documentation and support your team needs going forward.
4
We work alongside your managers until they’re ready to take it from us.
We train your managers, watch them put the process into practice, and provide guidance along the way. As they become more confident and capable, we gradually reduce our involvement.

What clients say
Common questions about fractional HR services
Fractional HR gives you access to HR expertise without hiring someone full-time. The hours can be flexible, and much of the work can happen remotely.
In-office HR support is about presence. We’re in your workplace on a set schedule, so your managers can reach us while a situation is still developing. The goal is also to build capability within your team so they can take on more of the work over time.
Some organizations start with fractional HR and move to in-office support as their needs change. Others move the other way as their internal capability grows.
That depends on the size of your organization, your current needs and how much HR work is already in motion. Some organizations need more time on site at the beginning and less as their managers take on more of the work.
We’ll recommend an approach based on what your organization actually needs.
No. In many cases, we make that person better supported and more confident in the role.
They already know your people and your history, which is the hard part to teach. What they may not have is formal HR training or someone to check a decision with, and we can provide both.
That’s what we’re building toward from the beginning.
You keep the documentation, processes and tools we build together, and your managers have already had the opportunity to use them with us alongside them.
As your team takes on more of the work, we gradually step back while remaining available when you need additional HR support.
Yes. We work across Alberta, and on-site days can be scheduled around travel for organizations outside Edmonton.
